Using Keyword Research Tools
This is part-1 of carrying out effective keyword research.
Keyword research is part of the building block of a successful blog. Without keyword research your SEO strategy can be considered meaningless. Keyword research gives you the necessary information you need to know, it tells you how many people are searching for a particular keyword or key phrase.
As a blogger, there are two occasions when you will need to carry out keyword research. The first is when you are registering a domain name for your business or blog. Before you register a domain name, you need a onetime keyword research. The purpose of this is to get a good domain name that will help your blog to rank well for keywords in your niche. The second is when you are creating a post for your blog; you will be doing this every time you want to make a post on your blog. Now, how can we make keyword research effective so that we can get the most out of our keyword research? Let’s go through the essentials.
Your aim in a keyword research should be to find the right keyword to target your blog or post. This keyword is one that is low in competition and gets a good amount of traffic.
There are a lot of tools for keyword research tools, but we are going to focus on using google keyword tool. This tool gives you monthly search volume of a keyword and the competition rate. When using google keyword tool, there are three boxes you need to check to narrow your search.
See the image below
If you check the three boxes above, this is what you’ll get after hitting the search button.
Now is time to analyse results. Remember, your aim in carrying out a keyword research is to get the right keyword; keyword with low competition and decent amount of traffic. From the result you get on google keyword tool, you can tell which keyword is right for you? Take a look at the results once more, if you are to optimize your blog , which of the keyword will you optimize you blog for? From the result in the image above, there are six results. Rock climbing is low in competition but highest in search volumes. Mountain climbing is also low in completion but not as high as rock climbing in search volume. Mountain climbing in preferable to me, because almost everyone will go for rock climbing because of its search volume. Very few will want to choose mountain climbing with about 9,900 global monthly search. This is where you should target, where competition is low.

There are plenty of other useful soft to carry out a key word, like http://ubersuggest.org/ or some other. When some of my friends ask me how to use Adwords i just offer them an alternative, some lighter app… For a long time Google adwords was a black magic to me.. but somehow everything became clear after 100th time trying to fish out decent keywords))

Oh yes. There are really bunch of other keyword tools out there, but google keyword tool should not be ignored. Even if you use some different keyword tool, i will advice you still use google keyword tool and compare it with whatever other keyword tool you are using.
